Numerous errors with MU 2.8.1 (7 posts)

    After upgrading I'm experiencing a number of issues with Wordpress 2.8.1.

    First is the upgrade banner doesn't go away (I realize this is a problem many are experiencing). Next, along with the core update not registering I am also having problems with plugin updates not registering. In this case All_in_one_seo_pack still shows I need to update even after updating to the latest version. I'm not sure if this second problem is due to the core problems or the plugin itself.

    Finally, after updating I am not able to add users to individual blogs. When trying to add a user on the edit blog page as the site administrator it shows a page saying "Are you sure you want to do this" with a link that says "Please try again." This happens regardless of which user I try to add and which role I try to assign them.

    Anyone else?

    I also have the two Upgrade banners that won't go away. Also, when I edit a page or a media file (haven't tried any others yet), after I click the Update button, I get taken to a blank page. For pages, it's http://churchonhigherground.org/worship/wp-admin/pages.php and I think it's http://churchonhigherground.org/worship/wp-admin/media.php. I don't think these files exist or if they do, there may be parameter information missing.

    This didn't happen with 2.7.x. I think it used to take me back to wp-admin/edit-pages.php and edit-media.php before.

    The All in One SEO update is probably still showing because they put in a new feature that on the AIO page (first one at the top) called Plugin Status and it is "off" by default. Once you turn it "on" the message goes away... at least for me it did....also be careful that old AIO settings aren't reset, mine were....

    After upgrading to 2.8.1, upgrade was successful but I had this error message in footer.

    Fatal error: Call to undefined function compression_test() in C:\wamp\www\wpmu\wp-admin\admin-footer.php on line 38.

    The upgrade banner doesn't go away.

    My 2.8.1 upgrade banner is still there too, and also in the footer. Think I'll wait for the bug fix instead of messing with it.

    Found a fix on trac | http://trac.mu.wordpress.org/ticket/1037
    and Changeset 1868 | http://trac.mu.wordpress.org/changeset/1868
    Very helpful.

    @cwiegman,

    You might want to keep an eye on this thread: http://mu.wordpress.org/forums/topic/13372

    It doesn't look like it's been resolved yet though.
