Why domain has to be SINGLE value for WPMU? (5 posts)

    Hi,

Is there a way to disable wpmu-domain linking?

It makes us very very inefficient.

    Here is why;

We have wordpress MU on .x.com we setup dev.x.com. As you know for a perfect staging environment we need user sandboxes run from *.dev.x.com.

Currently each and every developer has to 'install' wpmu before they start working on it, since we work with buddypress, it requires us to spend 8 hours per developer/intern to setup their sandbox.

Obviously, we set up wpmu to use x.com/user type of blogs.

I'd very much appreciate if you can tell me how I can change domain names without caring about what wpmu will think about it.

If this requires some hours of work, we can hire you to do it, just let me know.

    Best,
    D

It requires some changes to the databases (phpmyadmin).

I will help you. Do you have msn or something?

    To clarify my problem,

Can you make the SAME wpmu+bp website work on any subdomain of x.com? (*.x.com)

    - Install a WPMU+BP
    - make an x.com
    - make the same website visible on any sub-domain *.x.com
    - leave 2nd and further level sub-domains intact. (**.*.x.com)

This is exactly what I want.

    Cheers.

I don't have skype. Do you have MSN/AIM/GTALK?

    If you do:

    MSN: rohank44@hotmail.com
    AIM: rohank44@hotmail.com
    Googletalk: rohan.kapoor1@gmail.com
