Askimet on Wordpress Mu with BuddyPress (3 posts)

I am trying to install Askimet on my Wordpress MU 2.8.2 site. I have BuddyPress 1.0.3 installed also (though it does not seem like that should be an issue.) I can put askimet in the standard wp-content/plugins directory and it shows up fine, but when I move it to the wp-content/mu-plugins directory it disappears. I move the askimet.php to out of the askimet directory and down to the wp-content/plugins directory but that does not help either. I know people are using this on MU sites, what am I doing wrong?

btw I did put the key in the askimet.php file and it worked in the wp-content/plugins directory fine (did not ask for a key and said it was working) - nothing works in the wp-content/mu-plugins directory

    Thanks for any help

Upload AKISMET to your regular plugins directory then activate it.
Btw, especially for a WPMU install, check out the licensing concerns -

"nothing works in the wp-content/mu-plugins directory"

If the plugin is in a subfolder inside mu-plugin, then no, it will look liek it doesn't work. Place the file directly in mu-plugin.

Also, please read carefully the licensing issues mercime listed above.

There's other spam-stopping options as well.
