Installed WPMU, still see Install index (12 posts)

I have installed WPMU, I can login to Admin. I then installed bbPress on same DB. I then click the link to see the site from the WPMU dashboard, and it gives me the install screen again? It's already installed! What am I doing wrong? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

A friend told me it is because it's installed on a subfolder on my domain. So I need to install this on the root of the server?

On some servers, yes it works better in the root folder.

Why is it when I go through the install process, I go to login and it has me install again? I've already commented out the code in the blog-header.php file which checks for multiple configs :(

"I've already commented out the code in the blog-header.php file which checks for multiple configs"

Which doesn't have anything to do with fixing the reinstall screen coming up.

So - it worked before you added bbpress and now it doesn't? Then the bbpress integration got messed up. Did you ask your host for help?

I ended up installing this on root without installing bbPress. At this point I am just trying to get WPMU installed. I can login via admin, yet when I view the url it shows the process as if I've never installed before. Cleaned out db before I installed as well. Removed .htaccess before I installed as well as the config.php.

No. Curious how it can work on a subfolder when the guy didn't do any of this.

Did the other guy do it on a different account that has the right level / dedicated IP / whatever criteria GD decided it needs this week ?

I've installed MU on GoDaddy in a subfolder. Actually, it was on a subdomain. But you need the right account level. If you are on their bottom-line shared account, they disable MU from working.
