Dear MUsers,
I have worked my behind off for two days trying to make this work. I finally have an install with no error codes but no front end. I have a backend wp admin access but the homepage is still stuck on setup. See the results here:

What's wrong?
I have a regular WP install in the root of the site. Is is not possible to get WPMU to work in a directory?
Is it possible to have subdomain blogs with MU in a directory?
Is there anyone else that answers questions here besides Andrea?
Sincerely,
Discouraged,
John

Darkly,
Thanks for the emotional support. Now if we can somehow just get some technical support it would be great.

In Andrea's E Book there is this Wildcard Domain step:
Also via ssh, edit the httpd.conf file. Open up a terminal and type this in: ...............................
Is this necessary? I've never had to do Ssh or use terminals before and on another site where I am running WPMU successfully, I never had to do that to get it working.
Could this be why I've got this endless install loop?
Andrea has posted several links about mixing WPMU in a subdirectory with WP in the root - its problematical but it can be fixed.

Steve,
Thanks for the note. I am about to give up. I was trying to do this so that one of my clients could have a section of the site that was his, that he could control without giving him access to my main WP install.
