I am thinking of creating a WPMU site starting with maybe 20 or 30 P2 themed blogs. However I don't know what kind of strain the P2 theme will put on a server. Any suggestions on the type of host I should look for? Any specific suggestions?
Also,I am not terribly savvy. I have only ever dealt with Slicehost before and setting that up from scratch was very time consuming for me. I'm hoping for something a bit simpler?
Any help is appreciated.
The P2 theme? Shouldn't put any strain on the server at all really. If all the blogs are using one design - they are literally all using the same theme, one copy.
Yeah, Slicehost expects you to know some server stuff. :D WPWebhost will even install MU for you.

Not true about not putting P2 on wordpressmu setup. Of course you can - and not everyone has to have or will have the same theme! Only the main blog "ID 1" blog will have the P2 theme. I got it working very well on WPMU
