Allow Upload Attachments from Contact Form (10 posts)

I am looking for a plug-in that would allow visitors to attach images, videos, etc. to either a contact form (which I am using some plug-in now for that) or simply to create a page that would allow visitors to do the same.

What my interest in is so that if someone sees "news" or something interesting happening they can upload it from the contact page.

I have had numerous sign-ups a lot from overseas, and the problem is that once they get to the dashboard, they haven't a clue as to what to do. I even provide premium videos as "Admin Ads" for newbies to watch but, I am losing more people than gaining due to lack of knowledge of use of MU...

    HELP!!!

    Thanks

Sounds like an ideal way to get your blog site used for spamming or porn hosting to me.

So what your are saying that you know of none? I use captcha amongst a plethora of catch phrases, and spam filters.

You have to admit, for someone that is creating a site for users to share news, etc. and are not familiar with WordPress this is a tough route to go.

Besides CNN uses iReport, FaceBook and Twitter offer simliar features.

Does what you want. Tons of tutorials out there for single WP blogs that use this plugin to get the same exact features you describe.

This brings up an interesting question. Is there a malware scanner for file uploads/attachments for WordPress?

With enterprise products like SharePoint there's hooks to use server based scanners like Forefront to scan uploads so that we're not inadvertently hosting malware.

    That's a very good point

With the upcoming merge, there's probably even more reason for it too. Maybe some hooks for clamAV or something. (Hint hint for anybody at wordcamp)

Hrm, now that I think of it, the plugin above allows visitors to submit news, not sure about attachments. (But I bet it does.)

And I bet someone thought of the malware checker already. :D

TDO Mini Forms allows you to specify accepted file types. By default, it seems like only image file types are accepted, but even then types like PNG are not enabled by default. You can easily customize accepted file types by adding extensions to a list. This should help cut down on malware.
