Hi folks

Just letting you know that the Banned Email Registration facility is not working in Wordpress 2.8.5.2

What's the format you're using for the ban? I was pretty sure it was fixed in 2.8.5 but some people have tried to do things like use wildcard syntax which it doesn't support.

Just using the following (for example):

myspacee.info
williammail.com

One email address per page.

Just tested it and it's definitely working right for me on 2.8.5.2.

Are you testing it and seeing registrations go through or are you just getting spurious registrations that you think should be blocked?

Edit: Yep, that's the same domain format I'm using.

What's happening is people are registering with an email (for example) spam@myspacee.info and creating an account/blog.

The email is being accepted (even though it's listed in the ban list) as:

"myspacee.info" (minus the "")

That shouldn't be happening!

I dunno man, it's working right for me. Do you have any plugins that modify logins, useraccounts, etc? Or depending on how you upgrade your site, it's conceivable that some core wp files aren't current and it's the old bug that you have retained somehow.

I'm stumped.
