Need To Know How To Enter Subdomains into Google Webmaster Tools (6 posts)

    I've managed to get my domain in tools, but have no idea where I'm supposed to upload that html seed file too so I can put the url in my browser and verify my domain for google tools.

    Any here here?

    you just need to place the .html fil generated from webmaster to root folder i.e. /public_html or where you have installed the blog...

    then test this by http://yourdomain.com/webmaster.html

    if you find a page even its blank, this means its done....

    That method doesn't work for the subdomains when they're controlled by endusers.

    We use this plugin and the meta tag method for verification:

    Just for reference, quick bumping like that isn't cool around here. When you posted, it was like 5am Sunday here in the US where many of us are from. (And some of us were cooking breakfast for 500 homeless.)

    oh sorry. Misunderstood the meaning of the second post.

    We used to suggest doing a redirect of all files labeled google*.html to a file like tech* suggested that seemed to work but someone noted that anyone could verify any site on an install. The plugin I linked to would probably be best.
