Have wordpress-mu installed on a xampp setup on Win Server 2003. I can upload images through the browser and Windows Livewriter. The files end up in the correct folder on the server (wp-content\blogs.dir\[ID]\files\[year]\[month]\[day]\[file]), but can't get to the file from http://url/files/year/month/day/file.
Also, while I can browse to http://url/wp-content/blogs.dir/ID/, I get an error when going into the 'files' folder.
Anyone have ideas?
Check the owner and permissions on the files. Its possible your Web server doesn't have rights to read those files.

Permissions look right, I copied the 2009 folder up from wp-content\blogs.dir\files\ to the wp-content\blogs.dir folder, double checked that the folder and file permissions matched up and was able to browse to http://url/wp-content/blogs.dir/id/2009/month/day/file w/o issue
IIS needs paid add-on module for rewrite rules. Got that?
