I'm getting some very odd trackbacks - the trackback is to a googlesearch url with a random character search string.
Is anyone else seeing these?

Not with the random string. One of the bots ships with a default of google.com and we see that on occasion. Always assumed that the operator forgot to set it or was doing a test run.
It's hardcoded to be an automatic fail on our antispam system as google isn't going to be sending trackbacks from the google.com domain. (All the blogs I know of are on blogspot.com and we've seen this before.)
