HI, I'm trying to configure my WPMU installation using this settings

    http://mywebsite.com/blogs/blogname

for now, if I create a new blog, the address is set to

    http://mywebsite.com/newblogname

I'm new on WP so, I don't know if it's a .htaccess issue or what...

    I'm stuck, please help me.

I think you may just need to re install wpmu in a directory called /blogs/ instead of in your site root.
Edit: I suppose maybe that's how you have it set up judging by the thread title?

Hmmm, I do the installation 2 days ago but, the idea is that the main blog was placed on the root domain, as a cms, and the sub blogs I want it to be placed on /blogs subfolder, I was watching the Wordpress MU Showcase and I found a site called http://hypebeast.com/, they are using that scheme, placing blogs on a particular folder called /blogs, that's the way I want to follow.

... becasue they have MU installed in a folder called "blogs".

it's pretty easy to make the main page look like it's part of the same MU install. Done it myself.

    http://wanderlustandlipstick.com/blogs/

in this case, there's a WP install on the main site, and a MU install in the /blogs/ folder. I'd bet money the site you're looking at is setup the exact same way.

Edit: and a check reveals I am correct. Look at the source for the main page - it uses one theme. looks at the /blog/ page. It uses a completely different theme, even though it looks the same. Why? Because it's not the same "blog".

Dump WPMU in the /blogs/ folder. Put WP in the main folder. Slap a copy of the same theme on both. User will never be able to tell.

thanks for the tip !! I was figuring out that way but still thinking that it could be possible to do it using just one MU set up, but I will follow your hint. thanks again.

    Custom work. :)

They've already got a list of all blogs on another page. They're just loading it with ajaxy goodness at the top of the theme.
