WordPress MU

Hello WPMU folks,

What's going on w/ WPMU and WP 2.9? will the upgrade happen at the same time, or will there be a delay? Is there a blog I should be reading to keep up with this, instead of asking all of you?

I'd like to know this as well. Just discovered 2.8.6 was released a month ago, but I can't find any information on the roadmap for WPMU.

A lot of stuff gets announced here in the forum as well.

So WPMU 2.9 is 80 percent done, with four active tickets left. Can't judge how essential those 4 are...

Then people need to get to testing. imagine, if everyone here went and set up a local or dev site, testing those ticket issues, and got them sorted out, then MU 2.9 can be released.

Chances are we'll just jump to 2.9.1 as it looks likely that WP 2.9.1 will be out before the new MU is released.

When are WP and WPMU combining? 3.0?

What does that even mean? What will happen to current MU installs? Obsolete? Do we have to convert? How will upgrading work?

The plan is all exisiting MU install will upgrade like they usually do.

You will still have multiple blogs. they are not going anywhere.

So both instances will now be upgrading to the same files, thus being the same entity?

For 3.0, that's the plan.
