OK, this is new to me and I didn't see this in my search. I used the new blog creation feature in the admin area to create a new blog and user at the same time. The blog was created as was the user. I (admin) got the e-mail about blog creation but the user didn't get any e-mail and their address is on a different domain than wpmu. Also the new user was added as an admin to the main blog domain.tld, a very uncool thing.

The e-mail thing is troubling but the fact that the new user was made an admin on the site blog is not good at all. I need to see if anyone else has experienced this before creating a ticket. I am on r702 with vhosts and the main site is blogs.domain.tld.

That's strange. The new user gets the mail and is not added as an admin when I tried the same thing. Can you check your mail logs?

Probably not as I'm on DreamHost. I'll try and report back.

No access to mail logs and nothing strange in Apache logs.

OK here is the string of e-mails I get when I login as admin to the main blog (id=1) and create a new blog with a user that doesn't exist.

    To site admin
    ------------
    [site root]New Blog Created

    New blog created by admin

    Address: http://test.domain.tld/
    Name: Test
    ---------------

To admin but user is actually not added to main site blog
    ---------------
[site root blog title]New User Registration

New user registration on your blog The bleeding edge of WordPress MU:

    Username: test

    E-mail: user@domain.net
    ---------------

    To the new user
    ---------------
[site root blog name]Your username and password

    Username: test
    Password: password
    http://domain.tld/wp-login.php
    ----------------

Shouldn't the last one be http://test.domain.tld/wp-login.php? I know it doesn't matter with the site wide login feature but still...
