WordPress MU

I am new to MU but not to WP.

The new features of WP 2.9 are important to my project. But I also am ready to move to WPMU.

Does the core of WPMU automatically update with new versions of WP. In other words, does the current version of WPMU include the new features of WP 2.9?

WPMU usually lags a little behind WP as there is only one developer doing the migration work.

So WPMU 2.9 should be out (in RC form) in a short while
