WordPress MU

Hi
I just instaled my first version of MU i still need to get a few things working but wanted to ask.

I have been reading that the next version of WP will have the MU included in it.

So any body know when this will be out?

The big ? is if i start working on making a lot of blogs in my MU install i just did what is going to happen when 3.0 WP is out?
Will i then just be able to upgrade to wp 3.0 with no problem or will i have to stay with a older MU version and deal with that?

I do not want to work on a lot of new things in mu if it is about to be dropped or if when 3.0 is out and if it has MU in it i can not do a easy upgrade to that.

WPMU and WP are merging and the upgrade process should be pretty much painless - if it isn't then there will be a lot of very unhappy people out there.

Making sure this works is a top priority. Yes, I have talked to the devs.
