Hello, is it possible with wordpress mu to assign a domain name to each blog created ?

You mean a top level domain rather than a sub domain?
I believe it can be done with one of the domain mapping plugins.
Andrea is probably the best person for advice on that.

Yep, you need the domain mapping plugin.
http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wordpress-mu-domain-mapping/You create the blog in MU, then you map the domain to it. on the server side, you need to park each additional domain on top of your MU install.
