When a users signs up their blog gets a page not found

When I installed wordpres mu I selected Sub directories.

Why is it using url's like this?

http://quirkyjessi.blogengage.com/club

should it not be

http://blogengage.com/club/quirkyjessi

how do I make it like that. I don't understand how to make sub domains or directories work.

Please advise of my best next step?

Look in wp-config, changer vhost=yes to vhost =no. that should fix it for new blogs.

Andrea_r I made the change you suggested and it's the same result after a new blog is created.
