I believe that my site was hacked. http://wishfoundation.com
First I would like to say that I am a novice creating websites, I am working with WPMU and recently I noticed that my WPMU had been updated to a newer version, "I did not updated it" and I am the only one that was supposed to have the login and password to this site. Today I noticed that "on this page" http://wishfoundation.com/register if you scroll down to the lower section of this page just under the Facebuddy Theme link a small "get free stats" banner pointing to http://www.engineseeker.com/ is visible! I did not put this banner here nor do I know how to remove it!
Is there any one here that can tell me if my site could have been hacked and even more important; can someone PLEASE tell me how to remove this banner from my site.
Sincerely,
Guy
Check the theme files for a link, or check the theme functions.php to see if its got anything in it that might be inserting the link.

Thank you for the reply, I am on my way to see if I can dig anything up from the information you posted. As I said, I don't know too much about a
all of this but I will see what I can come up with...
Thank you for your reply,
Guy

Found a reference in the footer.php.
I guess it is now ok for me to assume that someone actually got into my site! Some looser with nothing better to do I guess......
Again thank you for pointing me the way.
Sincerely,
Guy
Check the original theme files.
If its not there then you need to look at the file permissions on your file structure and make sure they're not too open.

Thanks for your reply Steve, but I am not 100% sure what you are referring too! I think that I have my file structure's properties ok, "just assuming here" but I found trojen's on my personal pc so it is possible was hacked and someone most likely got hold of all my sites userid's and pass etc... JUST AN ASSUMPTION as I know that there are many ways for someone to manipulate sites out there!
As I said, I am green "and learning" but doing my best to keep this site going....
thanks again Steve

It could be because of something on your desktop computer, or it could be that you installed a theme that was already carrying the malware.

Woodstock cool, never been there.....
What is a WordCamp?
I already know that my pc was infected and most likely where my problems came from.....
Who ever the idiot was, he took it upon himself to do some updating for my WPMU and now some of the plugins don't work, wouldn't it be nice to know who does things like this in order to be able to return the FAVOR! loosers....
WordCamp is this:
http://wordcamp.org
like a conference, but more casual and some learning classes.
Feel free to hit me up when you get stuck. (click my name over there, it goes to my site).

Thank you very much there Andrea, I will most likely be looking you up as I have a few things "since that unauthorised upgrade" that are giving me problems.. Such as plugins that I had installed that do not work in the upgrade etc... The reason that I was not up to the final WPMU upgrade is that some plugins might stop working and that is exactly what happened, and where I only do this for fun I do not have the knowledge to fix things.. :-(
Anyway thanks for the help and for listening to my boring problems and nice chatting with you Andrea
