Hello,
I have mobile sites under WPMU. From these sites I link directly to .mp4 files and when I try to play them on the iPhone I get an error saying:
"Cannot Play Movie. The server is not correctly configured"
I have the exact same types of sites and link to the .mp4 files the same way on blogs hosted on WP and the files play fine on the iPhone.
I thought maybe because of the domain mapping method I'm using the url to the file wouldn't work. But I can download the file from the server using the same URL on my desktop computer.
I'm linking to the files this way http://mappedomain.com/files/2010/01/name-of-the-video-file.mp4
Plugins I have installed are:
Donncha's Domain Mapping
WPTouch
All in one SEO
Google XML Sitemaps

Actually, when adding a Post I link to the file like this
http://blog1.wpmudomain.com/files/2010/01/name-of-video-file.mp4
I went to edit the post and edited the way the video is linked to what I originally thought I was linking to (http://mappedomain.com/files/2010/01/name-of-the-video-file.mp4) but that didn't make a difference.
Thank you

I think it may not be the domain mapping that is causing it like I thought.
I turned off Domain Mapping and I still get the same error message when attempting to play the video file with the iPhone.
What happens if you try accessing the file directly on
blog1.wpmudomain.com/wp-content/blogs.dir/1/files/2010/01/name-of-the-video-file.mp4
That should bypass WPMU and serve the file directly - if it still doesn't play then it could be a server config issue.

SteveAtty,
I posted my last response before I read yours.
The thing is I can access the file on my desktop computer from all the linking formats I listed above. Except they just won't play on the iPhone, the sites I'm using WPMU for are all geared/optomized/etc. for the iPhone and iPod so I really need them to work on those devices.
EDIT: I just discovered the edit button, sorry for the multiple posts.

Any idea what server config issue it might be?

I'm still looking for a solution for this. Thank you.
