    If you have no information about the version, then you're probably talking about wordpress.com, and not a locally installed version of WPMU. So, you're in the wrong place.

    If you're not talking about wp.com, maybe some more details and specifics (ie a link) would be helpful.

    Wow, you are really in the wrong place... your blog is hosted at blog.com. Those people are responsible for the ads on your blog. Which was probably outlined when you signed up. They just use WordPress to power the blogs.
