Installation Errors (3 posts)

I tried to update my wordpress mu installation to 2.9.2. We host the installation on our own server

I am a total newbie when it comes to wordpress as someone else installed the program. I tried to manually install the upgrade and when I browse to what was the working blog I get the following message: Error establishing a database connection

I then tried to get to the wp-admin page and get the following page: One or more database tables are unavailable. The database may need to be repaired

I tried to look at the wp-config.php file but it looked fine to me (not sure what a bad one would look like)

Any help would be greatly appreciated

It might be important to know what you were trying to upgrade from. The database structure changes a bit from version to version. I would look around for specific information about upgrading from your old version to your new version. I have had a hard time in the past upgrading from one version to another (when its easy, its very easy - when its hard, its very hard).

The database and the wp-config.php file are two very different things. You need to go look in phpmyadmin at the actual database.
