I'm jsut covering all my bases becuase naturally hosts say if you get hacked it's the open source stuff. Um, they did *not* get into my MU, just my server to replace the index page.
Can someone explain the finer points of *how* to me while I Google in another tab?

this happened with me on a test site i use
and they modified the index page just after 1 houre of installing MU
i think it was something wrong in permissions i did for files .. or i hope so
cause since i put the right permissions i didn't found them around
try to get the right permissions for ur file and let's see
Yeah, they had the right permissions.
Could this have anythign to do with the latest security fix for WP?
Host insists it was the wp-config file, BUT the hackers got my ftp password - which is not stored in that file. Any ideas?
Nevermind, figured it out.

It wasn't MU, I can tell ya that. Partly it was a server issue, partly some other stupid things.
