All comments get marked as spam regardless... (5 posts)

All comments which get posted seem to end up getting marked as spam, even if done by registered users.

I already have a captcha system in place which blocks off all spam comments anyway so I would jus tlike to disable spam filtering in wordpress. Akismet is off however comments posted still get put on the spam list!

Of course ideally I'd like to figure out why everyones comments get marked as spam when they comment on other peoples blogs. When they comment on their own its fine.

I've installed reCaptcha and have disabled it for logged in users yet everyone who is logged in still sees it, I don't, and incidentally my comments don't get marked as spam.

Then you've got an issue with the settings somewhere on the spam plugins you DO have installed, or in Settings -> Discussion.

That's the thing, I have NO spam plugins in my entire wordpress-mu install, Akismet and everything else are disabled, the only thing I have running is reCaptcha and that simply does a captcha test, if you fail it the comment does not get posted or put on a spam list in wordpress.

This is why I thought there was some sort of built in spam filter in wordpress..

I had akismet enbaled one time, not sure if that's still somehow existing beyond dimensions.

There's nothing built-in *except* for the Settings -> Discussion options.

If you have a space saved in the moderation terms box, it'll toss everything in the spam queue.

Or yes, you coudl have lingering things going on from your disabled plugins. Check your mu-plugins folder too.

Well that's good to know, I checked and it turns out the reCaptcha plugin was marking everything as spam so yeah, turns out I did have a spam filtering plugin tucked away in there... I've always had trouble using it so not much of a surprise.
