Can someone please help me, I have looked everywhere and still can't understand what to do. I am new at wordpress mu and have installed everything and can access admin, created userid, and can access dashboard.

I installed buddypress and it said to change from default settings on permalinks so I chose one of the three options available. Everything works behind the scenes.

The problem is when I try to click on any of the tabs, groups, activity, members etc on the front page I get this error.

    Object not found!

The requested URL was not found on this server. The link on the referring page seems to be wrong or outdated. Please inform the author of that page about the error.

If you think this is a server error, please contact the webmaster.
    Error 404

    Apache

Can someone direct me how I can get the site to work. I would appreciate it, I have to do this for my job and just got assigned this project. Thank you.

2nd link is a private blog.

Turn off Buddypress to start. Check the permalinks on each post. Do they work? If not, then that's the issue.

If they do work, enable BP again. Did you pick a BP theme?

    Hello Andrea,

I am still trying to get this to work, I reinstalled wordpress mu and can add posts etc through dashboard. I then installed buddypress and no matter what I do on the front page of the site I get the object not found 404 error. My site name now is http://www.globalinx-itc.com/Study

Can you check and see what you think the problem is? I haven't contacted my server company so I am not sure if they are restricting something or not.

    Thank you very much.

In the back of my mind, I remember an issue with the capital letters in subdirectories and how wp (and wpmu) expects lower cased letters. I;m on battery though and can;t go searching. That's the first thing that comes to mind.

    Hello tdjcbe

We have a wp site that works fine and it has a capital letter in it. the site name is http://www.globalinx-itc.com/Learning we wanted to create a new database with mu so we could have buddypress on it and try doing a more open social network.

Could anything from my server company be preventing it from connecting and giving me the 404 errors saying object not found?
