Creating a user/blog automatically (transparent to the user) (1 post)

    Hi,

I'm running a non-blog website (not related to the Wordpress platform). The website offers different services, and users are required to log into their account before gaining access to the site's facilities.

I've just installed Wordpress MU, and would like to allow any user that wishes to do so, to create a blog for himself as an additional feature in his profile. However, the existing method by which users create a new blog is too complicated for my users. I would like to be able to automatically create their Wordpress account+blog transparently, in such a way that rather than have them go to the registration page and register manually, all they would have to do would be to click on a "Create My Blog" link in their profile page, and my system would do all the work for them (at the end of this on-the-fly process, they would simply get a response telling them that their blog has been set up, providing them their blog URL / username / password).

This seems to like something very intuitive that many webmasters could make great use of, but I can't seem to be able to find a solution for this.

I'd appreciate it if someone could point me to a solution. Alternatively, if no such solution exists, I'll be happy to hear whether it would be possible for me to create account/blogs by directly accessing the MYSQL server and creating the relevant records (i.e. a user account record and a blog record).

If I wasn't clear enough, please feel free to ask for clarifications.

    Thanks in advance.
