    Hello everyone;

    First, I'd like to say I'm completely new to Wordpress MU. In fact, just two days ago I learned about MU.

    I have been using WP for one month and it's been a process to familiarize with the WP structure.

    I have currently my site with several webpages and its blog (WP) and I have lately thought of making a Spanish version of my entire website including its own blog.
    My site's blog is found as a sub-dictory http://samplesite.com/blog
    so the Spanish version blog would be -> http://es.samplesite.com/blog

    Like I said, I didn't know about MU till two days ago, I had previously thought I had to install a second wordpress but now for this subdomain in order to create another blog. (Yeah, that's how much a newbie I am to WP)

    Now, the thing is .. I've googled for step-by-step guides to upgrade from the regular Wordpress to Wordpress MU but having found anything :( . Now, I suppose I need to back up all my posts, widgets, plug-ins, theme, etc so I don't lose them.
    So, if someone would be so kindly to guide me in this process .. I'd appreciate a lot!!!
    Thanks in advance :)

    Well, in the past you'd have to tear down your WP install and replace it with WPMU.

    But don't.

    WPMU is no longer being developed as the project is now rolled in with single WordPress. Just wait until 3.0 comes out. which should be soon. Like a week or two.

    Or you can upgrade now to the release candidate.

    Then, you can simple turn on the mu bits.

    Understood.

    I have another site in which I haven't installed standlone Wordpress and I'm planning to follow why I'm doing in 'samplesite.com', that is, having my main domain for the English version and the subdomain for the Spanish version.

    If I install Wordpres 3.0 RC .. would I be able to upgrade to the final Wordpress 3.0 without uninstalling/installing anything?

    Thanks for your help andrea_r

    Yep, it'll give you an upgrade notice if you're on the RC & they do a release.
