    Hi,

I'm guessing this has been addressed elsewhere and I'm just not searching for the right keywords...

I had by wordpress MU on mu.localhost. The main blog was at / and there was another blog called recipes that I set at /recipes. Thinstallation was no located in the root of my htdocs but it was at a subdomain (mu.localhost).

So I moved the whole installation to mysite.com/blogs. It is actually in the /blogs directory on the server. The main blog is now at mysite.com/blogs and I set the recipes blog to be at mysite.com/blogs/recipes.

The main blogs shows up fine; /blogs/recipes turns up a 404. I can't even get into the backend (/blogs/recipes/wp-admin).

What do I need to do to get this sub-subdomain blog to show up again? Thanks.

It;s still a subfolder blogs. :) They are generated via the htaccess file. First, make sure you have one. If so, make sure you have AllowOverride FileInfo Options
in the vhost entry in apache for that web account on the server.

OK let me ask you this: if I am not able to use .htaccess for this project, and I may not be able to, is there a way to use Wordpress MU without subdirectories OR subdomains? Maybe it just passes what blog you're in in the string?

Update: When I try to create new blogs from the new installation, it starts with mysite.com as the root and asks for a subdomain after that. The site is not located at mysite.com; it's in a subfolder, /blogs. Why does Wordpress mu think the root is mysite.com and how do I get it to recognize that ALL blogs, including the main one, come out of the root of mysite.com/blogs?

edit// btw I tried my best to migrate this replacing the base url in phpmyadmin, and futzing with it until I could see the main blog and log in. So I may have set this wrong...

    under 'my blogs' I have:

    Primary Blog mysite.com

and under site admin > my blogs I have /blogs/ and /blogs/recipes/

The primary blog should be mysite.com/blogs
