Is there any way to show recent posts with thumbnails without much scripting. Is it possible to introduce this on a static frontpage. Please give me detailed explanation.

There are many ways to do this, however if you don't want to do much scripting, I suggest you find a theme that does what you want and use that.

I don't mind scripting but I am not a pro in PHP. I need some good guidance. I read a few articles using tim thumb but I don't know where to save the script. I am using buddypress along with wordpress mu so the directories get a little confusing.
