WordPress MU

Has anyone gotten this to work (the one by Donncha). I've tried everything I've found on the boards here and can't get it to work. It's the one used on wordpress.com. When I set it up it just doesn't return any photos not even the default.

I've tried every other Flickr plugin and widget as well and can't get any to work on WPMU. Pulling my hair out, what's left :)

Just upgraded to 1.0 RC4 and widgets seem to work. Tested the delicious one and it works.

Any suggestions? .htaccess file edits? Where did you place it (in plugin folder)?

I put it in my widgets folder with the rest of them - worked fine for me, same build. :(

hmmm, and your widgets folder is in your mu-plugins folder yes?

shoot. it just won't pull in the photos. Occasionally I'm seeing a MagpieRSS cache error on firefox, the rest of the time just the "More Photo" link that goes nowhere. Is there maybe a Magpie setting somehwere that I'm missing?

Tried adding another RSS feed and get this the first time: MagpieRSS [debug] Cache doesn't contain: http://feeds.feedburner.com/TrifuelTraining (cache option: rss_3221ba860e41e6eec515359e9554771d) in rss.php

but the feed displays. same thing with Flickr widget but the feed doesn't display?

I got the same error once, but it seemed to work itself out. Oddly, it was not the first time I installed the widget. :-/

Alright, ya does seem to work on the others. I guess it's just a Flickr thing. Maybe it doesn't like the subdomaining setup. I'll try some more tests. thanks for your replies.

I'm on subdoamins too, if that helps. Also, flickr soemtimes hiccups. I'm runnign the tantan flickr post bar too and it occasionally hangs on me.

wierd. i think flickr just doesn't like my site. I couldn't get any of the Flickr widgets or plugins to work. I tried the tantan flickr photo gallery (silaspartners version I think) and Flickr rejected me on the first step when you go out to get the code.

On another note I tried just pasting a Flickr flash badge into a "Text" widget and it worked. Anyone else try that? You think I can share with the rest of my bloggers?

yep, I knew rhe badges worked in text widgets. :) Also, i had to modify the tantan plugin to work. I had a post and link here somewhere....

They don't work over at Wp.com. We get enough folks complaining about it.

What's the code for a badge anyway?

Javascript I think, which would be why it doesn't work over in WP.com land...

I just tried the sitemeter's javascript and it striiped that out. I gather that the barge is an embed tag? I thought those where stripped as well.

Huh. On my install it will run blogads javascript. Double-checking the Flickr badge, it runs javascript in an iframe. Can see it here:

It's the last couple of items on that sidebar.

Um, you might have an issue. Allow using inputted javascripts are a security issue. Uless it's letting tou do it since you're a site admin. I forget what I was logged in as when I tried it. Regular blog admins shouldn't be allowed to input javasvripts.

Um, yeah - now that I think of it. I didn't do anything to it either. It let users input sitemeter, ads, dohickeys right out of the box.

I wrote a widget to do this. It uses Flickr's flash badge.

Okay, i guess I do have issues. Ever since I installed it (the Flickr RSS widget by Donncha) it hasn't updated the photos. For anyone. I've poked around to find cache files and that directory doesn't have any files in it.

Then I switched the mypatrick's Flickr RSS widget and got the same photos showing, so I'm pretty sure it's a chacing issues. No, it's not my browser. This happens with any user setting it up. It shows the photos, then never updates them.
Any ideas on what gives? I am pulling my hair out.
