Hello everybody! I have problem with the tiny MCE editor. I have to refresh the browser to make it appear! It seems to only appear with my old IE browser (with Firefox it works perfectly). I searched on google but I didn't manage to find the solution . I tried to replace the .js with the the .js of the last version of tinyMCE but it doesn't work. Is there a solution? Thanks =)
Try clearing your browser's cache. Sounds like you're having the same issue that occurs over in wp.com land after they do an upgrade.

I know that I have to clear my browser's cache or refresh my page or desactivate the spell checker LOL But it's for my "future users"! I don't think it's very appropriate to put a note like: "refresh your browser or clear your cache if the WYSIWYG editor" ^^ Oh and thanks for your posts: Andrea_r's and yours are very helpful =)
Hmm... dunno really. Sorry I couldn't be helpful this time. :D I upgraded recently and did have some issue with the RTE (inside WP, the TinyMCE stuff is referred to as the Rich Text Editor) but at least it showed up.
how old is the IE you were using? And do you have the IE tab extension for Firefox? :D

It works with Fireworks =p But not in my IE browser (6.0 from WXP SP1 LOL)! I spend 3 days one night to customize WPMU and translate it in french! OMG I think I must sleep tonight @_@ Oh IE tab extension (->after a Google search I learnt what it was), oh very interesting but I am asking for a solution wich resolve the problem for all browsers!
It's strange that when I go to my wordpress.com user account, I don't have any problems with the Rich Text Editor (I tried to download the .js from wordpress.com and put it instead of my old file but it doesn't change anything). Snif!!! é_è
Ah! Je parle mauvais francais, et je suis du Canada, en l'Acadie.
C'est la vie, I guess. @_@

Hello!! (it's 7:30 AM in France, slept 3 hours...) SNIF! Andrea can you please send me girl in green them or dr-mike can you do it(your link is broken)?
I think I will fix the tinyMCE bug problem later because if you, who have a lot of blog users, haven't receive any complaints about that, it's must be a rare problem =)
I kepp having this kind of problems with tinymce. Many users report it not showing up, or showing up only 50% of the time.
Where I'm getting tired with tinymce is when it messes up html tags, addind hundreds of font tags around nothing, and finally doing it bad enough for the font style being applied to the whole rest of the page instead of just the article.
Shirou, I'm another french wpmu user. Why did you translate it ? There's a mo file somewhere available.

I didn't manage to make it work! Put the .mo or the .po in /wp-includes/language and edit the wpm-config confile b ut nothing change in >Site Admin>Options>Language!
Quenting do you put a note like "Refresh your browser if the WYSISWG editor doesn't appear" ? I know that is not very pro but...
no, it definitely isn't pro... I tell them to do so in the support forums, but sometimes that just isn't enough either. Some say they have to hit back then forward and then it works. Some say it never works. Some say it works on the "write page" but not on the "write article". I'm really getting tired with it and looking forward to the new editor coming. this is *the* place users spend the most time at, and currently it's really quite buggy.
shirou what kind of blog service are you working on ? General, specific ? You seem to be at an early stage of deployment, are you doing this on your own or for someone else ? Would you be interested maybe in partnering ?
quenting at gmail dot com to discuss it further if interested.
You know, I've never had this problem with it not appearing. Odd.
I am having the same problem. TinyMce html editor just disappears on IE 6 and 7.
What can I do?
Um, did you not read the thread here? There's suggestions made up above.
Please also take a second and review the debugging page linked to from the readme file. It's a great resource on what specific information you need to provide when asking for help. Server level software requires a different mindset from the typical "please help me" of enduser support forums.
Hi tdjcbe.
Yes, of course I have tried all of the above but nothing helps.
Sorry about the lack of info on my problem, but my problem is just the same of shirou.
Cheers,
Alex
