    Hi,
I installed WPµ with the subdirectory option (I am hosting on a provider not allowing more than 10 subdomains):

I can run the installer and everything goes fine, but now all the links start with

    http://de/wpmu/didactalab/

    Probably meaning:
de = German? (I am using Firefox 2.0 DE for setting up)
wpmu = this is the folder in root where I copied the files
didactalab = this is the domain name

So it looks to me that instead of building the right link
    http://didactalab.de/wpmu
    it builds
    http://de/wpmu/didactalab
    instead.

Where can I change this? Should I hack .htaccess?

You can have a look at
    http://didactalab.de/wpmu/

    Thanks,
    karsten

did you use http://www.didactalab.de during install?
I have the same problem only when I add the www

    Agreed.

You can try manually fixing this by editing the wp_site table but I would lean more towards doing a reinstall.

Also remember that if you install it into a subdirectory, you're stuck using subdirectories off of that one.

    ie: didactalab.de/wpmu/blog1 didactalab.de/wpmu/blog2, etc.

    Howdy PleaseHelp & DrMike,
I sticked with didactalab.de to prevent any troubles.
I am ready to reinstall (I already did this to check different install options), but I have to use subdirectories, which is not a problem in my case.

@DrMike: if this info is written into wp_site table - is there any chance to debug the install-script where it goes wrong then? I thought, maybe it is just the .htaccess-file? Any ideas?

    Thanx so far, folks!

"I am hosting on a provider not allowing more than 10 subdomains"

This doesn't matter as the subdomains are *virtual*. You will have to ask your host to see if they can/will set them up for you, but the subdomains blogs do not "count" in that limit as they don't actually exist on the server, just in the database.
