Global categories / tags plugin (6 posts)

Looks like I'm never going to be able to get away from people wanting an admin driven global categories tool, so here goes :)

Basically I'd do pretty much anything for a plugin which allowed each blogger to select from a drop down or AJAXy menu the predetermined category(s) that their post fits into.

If it replaced / added to the existing WP categories too then that'd be great too.

For example with education it might be:

    kinder
    high school
    maths
    geography
    etc.

The user simply ticks the category or categories that the post fits into.

And that on the top level of the site a page is created for each category (i.e. edublogs.org/global/kinder or edublogs.org/global/maths) where all the latest posts allocated with that particular, preset, category drop into there... blogstylee.

I'd pay for a solution - or help fund one that someone wants to release OS here - I'm so desperate!

James, I'm currently looking for a tagcloud and global category solution aswell. Maybe we should collect some money and send them to drmike who got it working over at daria.be?

Nah, just to have to find the time. *grumble*

With the 2.0.5 release, I have to upgrade that so I'll write the walkthru when I upgrade.

And learn to frigging type on this keyboard...

Wow, that's a pretty damn cool implementation! Tres funky! If there's anything whatsoever I/we can do in return let us know - I can hardly wait!

Good lucksee with the keyboard BTW :)

    Cheers, James
