WordPress MU

I am looking for information on what is supposed to be located inside the blogs.dir folder. My installation uses sub-directories such as http://triton.cowetaschools.net/mike or http://triton.cowetaschools.net/matt.

When I browe to theses blogs, I see the content blog home page for each but it is very basic like the style sheet is not where it should be. When I browse to http://triton.cowetaschools.net/mike/wp-login.php and click on the Login link, I get this error:

"The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator, mike.harris@cowetaschools.net and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log"

This is what leads me to believe that something should be in the "mike" sub-directory that isn't there. Please advise. Thanks.

Upload a file from your blog's dashboard-->upload. Only then does mu create the file folder in the blogs.dir/# folder. Until a user uses the upload feature nada thing gets done with the blogs.dir. All other sub dir info is stored in the db.

The fact that blogs.dir/# folder doesn't exist caused me some headaches today in importing XML (WordPress eXtended RSS or WXR) files. I had to manually create the # folder before the import would work. It took me 1.5 hours to figure this out because I mistakenly thought that it was a permissions problem. I hope that this helps the next user.

Opening a ticket on the issue would have been nice but I'll go ahead and do it for you. :)
