I changed /wp-includes/links.php to add some functions.
If you are interested in rss-feeding on the link field, download this file:
http://flapjack.chips.jp/blog/pp/files/links.php.txt
Then rename it and replace links.php at /wp-includes.
To activate rss reader and flickr, you must download following plugins and change them a little:
flickrRss plugin by Dave Kellam

RSS fetched link list plugin by Bill Rawlinson

These plugin print results directly, and you must change them so that they "return" results as variables. I wrote how to change them and usage in links.php.txt.
It works fine and I think it would be very confortable if you don't need to edit themes any more to show rss-feeds or flickr!
