i am using wpmu
i want to replace the sub domain names with
real domain names

can some one help me

example:
abc.mysite.com to abc.com or efg.com

I did that - but it was not easy.

You have to change every single domain in the database from abc.yoursite.com to yoursite.com - depending on how many blogs are already set up this will be a lot (e.g. wp_site, wp_blogs, wp_X_options, wp_X_posts).

I'm not a sql-guru (maybe you don't need to be a guru ;-) ) so maybe you can run a search-and-replace in the whole db... (I did it one by one).

I'm not sure if my question is the same, but I'll add it to this post instead of starting a new post.

If I wanted to set up WPMU on my server, but instead of using subdomains which is the default from what I have been able to read, could I set up an add-on domain in cPanel so that all the individual blogs could be accessed through either the main domain name or the subdomain?

I pointed my domain to my nameservers, then adjusted the DB settings as mentioned by Bruz but got an error 404 message. Did I miss any steps?
