WordPress MU

I would like to give an existing user maximum rights so that they too can see the Site Admin tab when they login to the admin panel, but I don't see how this can be done in the UI. Searching through the forums, I have the impression that this is possible but I couldn't find someone specifying a method.

Is this only possible by changing user levels directly in the db? If so, which changes do I need to make exactly?

Go to Site Admin -> Options.
Scroll down until you see where it says "Administration Settings".
Plunk the username in there.
Press the "update options" button.

D'oh! I should have been able to see that myself. Well, hopefully this will help others too.
