Some nice ideas there :) How did you give users an avatar?

(I'll be at Le Web 3 in Paris next month)

parakeet, I think i started from this:
    http://cheesemasterdan.com/wordpress/word-press-plug-ins/dans-avatar-thingy/
and modified it to my needs.

I'd love to go to leweb3, i'm not sure i will though, i'm located in geneva and i'm not 100% sure yet i can free my agenda for those 2 days. What site / company are you representing there ?

I'll be reporting for a couple of outlets there.
I know from previous experience that blogging in France is huge. That even a WPMU network en Francais can get 38,000 is impressive.
I'll look into the avatar plugin - interesting, how one would get it to work across a network of blogs.

I have 32 blogs by 28 users, where 7 blogs are inactive. I've been up for two months to the day, and haven't done any marketing really, I'm not shure how to begin.

I'll take tens and twenties. :)

I made up a post over at http://pimpmyblog.wordpress.com that may give you some ideas. It was written for end users but the same ideas should apply.

By the way, are we talking about actual bloggers or splogers?

I am, I remove all splogers as they show up. How much of an issue is splogers for you people who have several thousand members? Since I only have so few registered blogs atm, I guess two/three splogers a month isn't too much.

    I'm averaging about 30% splogers.
