I'm wondering how many such hosts there are. I've started to list the ones I know about in the sidebar of my edublogs blog:
http://andwat.edublogs.org/
If you know of others, please let me know and I'll add them.

boston-hub.com. Although i'm not really going to "launch" it untill fall.
You already have mine (911blogs.com), thanks for the linkage! :)
http://www.salzburg-weblogs.net will need a week of hard work until we start PR for it.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Salzburg if you don't know where Mozart was born.
Its in spanish though :P I have yet to finish the translation of it, but I am getting there. All I really need now is some 4-5 skins and I'll be ready. Some of the skins for WP are nice, I wish I could use them for wpmu :D
With recent nightlies (not sure how recent) you *can* use regular WP themes!
skins were used in 1.2, in 1.5 it's themes...
I've created a generic site at http://www.wugga.com and a site specifically for MonaVie distributors at http://www.monavieblogs.com
Both sites have the Gallery2 plugin installed and integrated with the blogs.
Thanks for the responses. I have added GeoBlogz and MonaVie Blogs to the sidebar of andwat.edublogs.org. I'll hold off on adding the other hosts mentioned in this thread so far until they are a bit further along. But if you'd like to me add your under-development WPMU site, please let me know, and I will.
Of course http://blogyourphotos.com/ is up and running although I cannot release it yet to the public until I change some security settings in the wpg2 to better track blog admin vs real admin..
I fork the wpg2 plug in tonight so I be able to make the changes to get the muwpg2 up and running..
You can add hrblogs.org up and running right now in a soft launch phase. Once we have completed some more testing it will be marketed heavily across the HR community. (Thanks James)
I've added hrblogs.org. I will keep an eye on blogyourphotos.org and an the other sites mentioned so far, and will add them as they start admitting bloggers.
I'll likely be adding mu to tawkr.com. I was working on using drupal, but it was a real dog for blogging.
@AndWat You can add another one to your sidebar:
Common Sense Junction
I have added Common Sense Junction, as Frank requested.
I have also added Bloghost Chile; since it allowed me to start a new blog, I think it's ready! It's the first non-anglophone host on my list. It also hosts my first spanish-speaking blog: gringo (http://www.bloghost.cl/andrew/). Actually, the blog speaks far better Spanish than I do...
There are now a dozen WPMU hosts on in the sidebar of:
http://andwat.edublogs.org/
PRblogs.org is using MU. It is a joint project with James Farmer.
"Free blogs for public relations practitioners, educators and students. Non-profit. Ad free. Building a blogging community."
and add Vela.net for free astronomy related blogs
Added vela and prblogs, bringing number of sidebar'd hosts to 14.
We're using MU Wordpress over at UrbanSlate.com which is still under construction. You can find the blogs at http://members.urbanslate.com
I've added UrbanSlate.
I'm confused about the front page. It tells the prospective blogger about virtual hosts, and about url formats. Does the blog owner have control over that, or is the site owner?
I think that is the default page that comes up first time after you install WPMU, probably isn't something you want the world to read.
yeah - i just haven't had time to fix that as of yet. I'm still having issues with uploading pictures unfortunately.
I am creating a community using, in part, WPMU. Visit fbxsquare.com.
fbx square is a weekly entertainment guide that covers events in Fairbanks, Alaska. The site offers forums, photo galleries, and blogs for free to its readers.
Note: there's just a splash screen there for now. Our tentative launch date is Oct. 14.
I've just bid "Willkommen zum sidebar" to:
http://www.salzburg-weblogs.net/
It's „Willkommen in der Sidebar“ but sidebar is no German word and there's no real good translation.
How about the RSS-feed? Would be nice to build a little network with it. Just like the top-line at freshmeat.net but I'd prefer a solution with XX random links, javascript and such nifty things.
We are going to be going live with MU at cfdblogger.com soon. Feel free to add that. It is not an open registration site, but we will be sending invites and should have a form ready to go to submit signup information soon. :)
I have recently setup WPMU at http://blogswith.us
Over 100 templates, 15 plugins and gallery2 integration (coming soon).
Tom: apologies for the German, which I got from a free translation site. I'm not sure what you mean about the RSS feed.
Ballen: I will add cfdblogger when I can access the site. It currently asks me for a username and password before it lets me see anything.
BlogsWith.us: I have created a blog at your site. It's my first taste of plugins with WPMU. I am having trouble with the tagging plugin, as I have posted at:
http://andwat.blogswith.us/2005/09/28/tagging-plugin/
That is the problem with a lot of plugins as they need modifications to things like the theme files to work properly so it is pretty much an all or nothing type deal in WPMU, either that or additional code in the theme to check if a plugin is enabled and then include the modifications the plugin requires.
AndWat: This problem is fixed and I have sent you an email explaining more.
jaseone: Almost all of the plugins that I have setup (19 of them) only 1 needed to me edited but your right about edits to the themes, a lot of work! And since I have over 100 themes available its taking its time. Luckily though the content in the sidebars which is where most of the plugins need to go are the same. I have 4 sidebar 'templates' that use various layout methods and so far just removing the existing sidebar content and replacing with one of these works find.
