Found this looking for a link to the Mature plugin.

By using that little plugin I wrote, you could do things like filter out 'mature' blogs from things like the sitewide feed by changing the mysql query a little, or you could write a directory of blogs for your site that excludes/includes the 'mature' blogs, and much more.
Of course all this depends on your users actually using the setting to begin with ;-)
