Is there a possibility that the front page is to modifying so that the front page looks like a page such as About without the "Edit this entry" possibility
Therefore without commentsboxes so i can this modify to a static frontpage.

wpmu has the option to allow you to set a static page as your frontpage and separately tell it which page contains your blog goto => backend => options => reading
