Clarify wp-cron usage (7 posts)

    Hello,
Wondering if someone could clarify how wp-cron works?
    - Is it just "on" by default and supposedly executing on some schedule? or does one need to point a real crontab at it?
    - Where does one manage wp-cron's schedule? (if at all)

(my current trouble is Widgets > RSS is not updating the cache at all and am wondering if it cron related. above questions came from debugging that. ;)

    thnx!

Have you upgraded recently? The reason why I'm asking is that Donncha just updated the cache code twice recently. I'm wondering of maybe he caused another bug.

As to cron, I don't have a clue. A quick search of the codex didn't show anything except for Skippy's plugin.

I made a post. Maybe they won't notice that it's for WPMu.

    hi drmike.
no upgrade. the client installed 1.0 a few weeeks back and I'm just tweaking it (and getting to know it ;)

man, documentation would be *awesome*... ;) Perhaps start a section in the codex?

I couldn't find a thing in the codex about adding stuff into the cron. There's got to be something since that feature already exists with predated posts.

It is on by default as I see it show up within the stats plugin output for our WPMu installs. Only shows up once a day though. It's got to run more than that since I have a blog that does the schedule postings.

I hope so as my post got ignored. :(

Gotta admit that that gets annoying as it seems like most of my questions over there get ignored. *sigh*
