WordPress MU

Anyone know of or have seen a forum that easily integrates with Wordpress MU? I know PunBB isn't too bad to integrate but because of the MU database it may be more difficult.

I'm pretty sure you won't find anyone that has worked on anything in this regard yet as the installed base for WPMU is still pretty small.

However I think as far as users and roles go WPMU should be pretty similar to Wordpress itself so you can see if folks over there have had any luck.

rocksolid have you started looking at this? I would be interested in any advice. I have this set down as an activity over the next week or so.

I'm working with several forums that work with wordpress single-user and it's just a matter of altering the code to work with MU

I finally got a forum working...it was insane to install but it works with the MU database:

bbpress integrates well with wpmu. I use both with a shared users table, single authentication etc.
Search for bbpress on these forums, there's a thread about it.

Wordpress MU Forum Integration vBulletin, Invision Power Board, SMF and others is possible.

Actually I liked IPB.

Them turning their backs to the open source community and ignoring all those who had submitted fixes and code is what sets me against IPB.

edit: Do note that that plugin up there is not Open Sourced and in fact they do charge for it.

I was never a fan of it, even before hand.

Believe me, I know what's out there. Writing a CMS, you have to keep up on that stuff, even if it's in passing.

I've integrated BBpress in 2 clicks. Sharing users with my WPMU install.

i didnt do it in 2 clicks, but i got the integration working. suielman (sorry i mauled your tag) has a solid tutorial somewhere here in the forums. it works fine.

There's a tutorial on the bbpress forums as well.

If you're not sharing themes, it's just a matter of filling out those three wordpress lines at the end of the config file actually and having the bbpress install use teh same database as the wp install.
