So, this has probably been answered on here before, but due to the redundancy of terms it's tough to find via searching. Anyway; can I do a WPMU install on http://dev.domain.com that will have blogs at http://blogname.dev.subdomain.com ? I'd like to get my new site all in order without having to mess with going from subdirectories to subdomains, if that's possible.. thanks much!

When using subdomains for an install, it adds the username to the domain name provided. If that domain is a sub to begin with, then it would end up just as you mentioned above.

Posted 17 years ago #Some places do have issues with a subdomain of a subdomain, but I couldn't really tell you who, what, or where.
I did a setup of MU not too long ago where it was setup with a subdomain as the primary, but I popped a few lines here and there so the accounts were created on the same level subdomain, vice a sub of the sub.
