SMTP / Coffee2Code Issues (5 posts)

    Hello all,

I have recently installed WPMU on another server I have, and I've used it in the past using phpmail... However this server doesn't allow such function, so I've installed coffee2code SMTP plugin, and all seems well.. I have tested it and it sends the email, however it sends the email to my email address, which is on the same server that it uses for SMTP, but my testers, and myself who tried to use an email address that isn't on the server such as, hotmail, gmail, or yahoo, etc... it does not send an email at all. So the problem is SMTP works with sending emails to addresses that are internally stored on the same server but refuses to send to emails that are external. If anyone could help me with this issue I would thank you very much.

If you can't send a message off the box, it isn't the plugin.

Have a chat with your hosting provider, or try searching google.

That and check your mail server's error logs. We can't help you on this one until you find where the emails are in fact going. Your logs will tell you.

Thank you guys for your support. I was checking the error logs provided to me by my host on the SMTP server, but nothing showed up at all... However I checked the error logs on the server wordpress mu is hosted on, and this may be before i was using SMTP... I'm not sure if you guys would understand it...

"([0-9a-zA-Z]+[-._+&])*[0-9a-zA-Z]+@([-0-9a-zA-Z]+[.])+[a-zA-Z]{2,6}" at POST_PAYLOAD [severity "EMERGENCY"] [hostname "domain.net"] [uri "/wp-signup.php"] [Sat Feb 17 06:12:05 2007] [error] [client IP Removed] mod_security: Warning. Pattern match

I have a lot of these ... thanks in advanced for your support

You'll need to get with your host and have them explain why they are using that filter in mod_security.
