    Everything was working fine. I have made no recent changes. Suddenly I'm unable to login to any accounts, not even the admin. Any ideas where to start looking?

    Thanks in advance.

    I'm not able to login or create new accounts or blogs. Everything was working fine, and suddenly tonight I can't do anything. Everything returns 404 file not found. I'm at a complete loss here. Any clues where I should even start to look?

    Have you looked at teh error logs for the server and wpmu? That would be the first place to check.

    have you cleared out your browser's cookie and file cache?

    And ask your webhost if they did anything.

    Neither the WPMU or Server logs showed the errors. First thing that I did was ask my host if they had changed or updated anything recently. They said no.

    At this same time I was receiving this error "Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING" for a couple of files outside of my WPMU installation. After investigation I discovered that those files had been edited to add:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="ISO-8859-1"?>
    in the header. I'm certain I did not make those edits. Te possibility exists that my server has been compromised.

    What file could be changed that would return these 404 errors from within WPMU?

    Thanks again for your help.

    I'm about to give up, pull the plug and start from scratch. Any ideas what page would be called that would show up as 404 within the templates?

    Any and all ideas, suggestions or heartfelt sympathy is appreciated.

    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="ISO-8859-1"?>

    Actually that should be in there. It's an HTML/XML requirement.

    Let me create an account tomorrow and see what's occuring. Is anyone else able to login?

    As far as I know nobody is able to log in or create an account.

    Thanks for the help. I hold off blowing it up and starting over.

    All of a sudden it started working again. This is so weird, it's like I have gremlins or something.
