WordPress MU

Hi,
I searched the forums and although i find similiar problems i still haven't found the solution for me...
I have WPMU 1.1.1 running on a windows server with Xampp for all php, apache, SQL, etc.
I also have WP installed and there i can send emails (e.g, to retrieve lost password) but in the WPMU when i try to do the same thing i get the message of:

"The e-mail could not be sent.
Possible reason: your host may have disabled the mail() function..."

I really can't understand what is the difference and why the WPMU isn't sending the emails like the regular WP does...

I was have same problem. and I use smtp plugin now. its work well. you can find it in wpmudev.org
