    Hi all,

    I am having a horrid time with the ELA Plugin. My theme, Plainbox uses the plugin and I've seen it action, so it does work with the theme. However, it doesn't work for me. I've activated and deactivated and 'tinkered' with it more times than I care to count and I still don't have a working archive page. I also tried creating an archive with the instructions in codex, but that also didn't work. If anyone has any ideas for how I can get an archive to work I swear I'll be eternally grateful even if all you can come up with is a similar plugin that might work.

    Thank you.

    I use it , the plugin, out of the box with Plainbox and K2 theme, no problems. Works as advertised. Try a fresh install.

    The plugin is in the normal plugin directory.

    I create a new page, title it "archives" , pick the archive page template from the admin sidebar, leave the body empty, save the page making sure the slug is "archives". Done. No code changes for me.

    At times when switching from a k2 theme to another, I need to "uninstall k2" before choosing a new k2-ish theme. I do not need to create a new archives page, however.

    Hi, thanks for the response.

    I took your advice and now have an archives page, however when I went to view it to make sure everything was working this is what came up:

    This is the frontpage of the I SHOUT LOVE archives. Currently the archives are spanning 34 posts and 5 comments, contained within the meager confines of 40 categories. Through here, you will be able to move down into the archives by way of time or category. If you are looking for something specific, perhaps you should try the search on the sidebar.
    Live Archives

    This is a 'live archive', which allows you to 'dig' into the I SHOUT LOVE repository in a fast and efficient way without having to reload this page as you explore.

    Warning: is_file() [function.is-file]: Stat failed for /home/ali/public_html/shoutlove/wp-content/af-extended-live-archive/years.dat (errno=13 - Permission denied) in /home/ali/public_html/shoutlove/wp-content/plugins/af-extended-live-archive/af-extended-live-archive.php on line 67

    Could not open cache file for years

    Any ideas? Thanks!

    Set permissions on any files/folders you've uploaded or created on the server to 755, especially the new cache folder, I'd guess.

    Okay, I've tried that, still no luck. :(
