WordPress MU

Help: I am upgrading a Pre Version 1, RC1 version of WPMu to the most recent release. I followed the instructions carefully, moving all the files in the wp-inst folder to the root directory and overwrote all but wp-cont and wp-config.php.

I am running the upgrade script, but I am getting the following error message:

Fatal error: Call to a member function on a non-object in /home/blogpeo1/public_html/wpmu-settings.php on line 72

Any and all advice would be appreciated.

My site is located at http://blogpeoria.com, but all you can see now is my under construction page.

Bumping this to the top, as I really need to find out what's going on. Thanks in advance for an help I receive on this.

OK: I thought for a second that the wp-config file might not be working right. But I uploaded what I know is the correct file from by many, many backups.

Still no solution. I was hoping someone smarter than me could figure this out ...
