Wordpress MU based on what version of Wordpress? (7 posts)

    I was recently asked what version of Wordpress is Wordpress MU based on. Is it based on the latest version of WP single user to operate? or is it based on a previous version?

    After installing both the single user and multi-user, it looked exactly the same on the admin side, so I figure it had to be the latest. As well, security fixes and vulnerabilities would be a key issue in any multi-user platform, and having MU based on a previous (and less secure) Wordpress installation would be ludicrous.....but after much searching I couldn't find a concrete answer.

    I'd also like to say I'm quite a newb to the Wordpress MU scene, but I think it's a fantastic platform with a lot of dedicated users contributing to its growth. I get a good vibe here :)

    damnit, this question gets asked about a zillion times a day these days!

    No fluff off my shoulders steamedian, so we can still be friends, but other MU forum regulars may not be so kind.

    To answer your question it's based on the bleeding edge WP version. 2.2.2 last I checked.

    Lesson learned: next time use search.

    This might be relevant info to add to the about page!

    Many thanks suleiman! I just now noticed the sticky detailing the location of the "working" search function. My eagle eyes just aren't what they used to be...

    And yes this probably would be relevant info to add somewhere, it'd be nice to have a record of this sort of thing.

    suleiman; I mean, my first post here was a little heated over the very subject of documentation and information which I regret but honestly, don't you think that the reason people ask the same question over and over again is that its not mentioned in the FAQ or other places.

    Maybe a suggestion to the powers to be in this forum is that there be a good solid "whats up - how to - faq" would solve some of these things.

    I know from looking and being in the general wordpress forums that such things are pretty easy to locate. Maybe there is an assumption that MU.Wordpress.Org follows the same format? Right on the very top of the wordpress.org site is the following;

    * Home
    * About
    * Extend
    * Docs (VERY IMPORTANT I BELIEVE)
    * Blog
    * Support
    * Hosting
    * Download

    I know I'm not out of line on this post.

    php4ever, if you're really serious, email donncha or matt. Matt is almost never here, and donncha only rarely, especially these days.

    They are the ONLY guys who can do anything about that.
